My Thoughts on Life at the Moment

So, instead of taking a nap, I thought I would update on camp life.

My walk to work is a grand total of 5 minutes. I used the grill for the first time earlier this week and succeeded in catching it on fire. My room that I'm sharing with three other girls doesn't have a door. It's interesting. I've been learning lots of new things about cooking. Like the fact that the ovens in the kitchen aren't like my oven at home. These actually bake things in the amount of time they should be baked. A few trays of cookies were sacrificed in this discovery. Pizookies are amazing, and so are dance/lip syncing parties in the kitchen. Combined they are pretty dang amazing. On Wednesday, which was my day off, a group of us summer staffers went to Salida which is about an hour away. I was kind of amazed at how many people said it was so far away. By hearing 'far away' I was thinking that maybe it would take two hours or more to get there. It was only an hour, which was about what I was driving to school and work before my summer adventure here at Horn Creek. The drive from camp to Salida is so much prettier though! Salida is an interesting little town. I think it's pretty popular because it's the closest town with a Wal-Mart.

I think this next week will kind of be an interesting one. As people start to get more comfortable with their roommates and new friends, I think that this next week will be kind of crucial. I think that this might be the week that people will find life-long friends here. I hope I'm going to be in that boat too.

Gotta get back to the kitchen!
Feel free to shoot me an email or some snail mail.
