Wow, I've already been here for three weeks. In some ways, it feels like I've been here for six months and then in some ways it feels like I've only been here for a few days. I'm starting to know my way around the kitchen...but every day us still an adventure. I am oftentimes covered in food at the end of the day. Small burns on my fingers and hands are pretty much a common thing around here. This last week was pretty interesting because us Lodge folk didn't have a group in, so we helped the two other two camps. I'm biased...I think that I have perfect group of people to work with this summer. :) We seem to be getting along really well. We'll see about that though....if the chipmunks don't get us first!
For me one of the things that has kinda taken some time getting used to is living with the people I work with. It's also been an adjustment sleeping on a twin bunk bed. I always feel like I'm going to fall out or something. It's been weird. For the most part, I think the transition from home life to camp life has been good. The days have been long and filled with hard work. The nights have been short, oftentimes filled with fun things and maybe a little sleep. In whole, I think that living here on the side of a mountain for the whole summer will be a good growing experience for me. I think that I will grow to learn more who I am and more about who God is and who He wants me to be.
Cook out.
